COMPARISON CHART
IMORTANT UPDATE: Please note that I have NOT included HINDecoder.net as it is essentially a replica of Marine Titles BoatScope reports.
None of the sites supplied owners names and specific addresses, nor did they provide maintenance records. But, the boating industry is significantly smaller than the automotive industry (roughly 1 boat per 30 cars) so the demand and
money for that kind of information may not be there yet.
The following chart compares what each company CLAIMED to offer on their website and what they actually offered based on the HIN's I ran. I partnered with a friend at a big insurance company and chose HIN's with registered data for each category. Therefore, if the "Actually Had" column is showing that it was missed or only appeared a certain percentage of the time, it is b/c the site specifically didn't pick up that information for the HIN's I tested. If there is simply an "X" in the "Actually Had" column, the report was consistent with the data the insurance company collected and was not missing anything.
